I used to prefer the first few rows of the seated sections, but lately I’ve started thinking that being in the front section of the standing area —front stage—, ideally within the first six rows, is actually better. I feel like it makes the live experience much more intense. The standing area has disadvantages, especially if you’re not very tall or you’re an average-height woman, as you might not be able to see well.
On the other hand, the side sections are physically closer to the stage, but I feel like most shows are designed to be viewed from the front.
I also had a bad experience the only time I sat in a corner. I was in one of the first rows of the section, but because of the diagonal angle, the stage actually felt much further away. I wouldn’t recommend it.
Of course, I know that the last rows (amphitheatre, upper floors, etc.) are usually cheaper, but I also find them much less enjoyable. If I can’t afford or don’t want to pay for a better position, I’d honestly rather not go. It was not a concert, but once I had a bad experience watching a musical from an upper balcony, so never again!
So, what’s your ideal position at a concert? Do you prefer the front section of the standing area, the first rows of the seated sections, the sides, or somewhere else? #music #audio
