I always end up destroying my fabric type shoes and boots. I'm not sure what it is that I do, or maybe it's just the sheer amount of walking and hiking I do. But anything with that spongy/fabric lining on the inside of the heel, I wear holes in it. Then they start coming apart at the seams. Lucky to get 6 months out of a pair. I was at REI recently looking for a pair made of solid leather, and didn't find any. It seems they don't make many of those anymore. I liked the Oboz sawtooth that I tried on and I'm thinking about ordering some but I'm worried they just won't last. I had a pair of Vasque sundowners years ago, but sadly at 18 I guess I wasn't completely done growing and I outgrew them, and now they don't make them anymore. They lasted me the longest of anything I've ever had though. The fabric type boots are undeniably a bit more comfortable but they just simply never last for me. I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and what brands worked for you. #hiking #activity source
