I am wondering if I am being too grouchy or is the Wolverine footage as shown underwhelming?
I don't want to be an angry grump that thinks every new game released is bad, wrong or poorly made.
But at the same time, seeing the footage from the new Wolverine game has me so incredibly underwhelmed that it is almost painful.
At this point, the formula for 3rd person action games is so ingrained, that it feels as if I can see the button inputs just looking at the combat, 90% of which is just "press square repeatedly until warning for dodge comes up, Wolverine will track the enemy for you"
It just feels as if it is the same action based game, just with a Wolverine skin ontop and with extra blood and gore.
And sure, that is what some people want, but it also just feels similar to when they make something and we are supposed to be hyped for it, because it is X character, and not because it actually seems interesting.
Once again, If people are hyped for it, that is fine. Heck I wish I could be.
But at the same time, I just look at the preview footage we got and keep asking myself...
"This is one of Sony's biggest titles this year, arguably a flagship title... Should we not expect more from the AAA sphere of gaming at this point?"
I dunno.
