I think I just experienced the most disrespectful…

I think I just experienced the most disrespectful recruiter I’ve ever dealt with.

I swear recruiters live in a completely different reality than the rest of us
Been applying to jobs for months now and honestly it's been brutal. You send out application after application and half the time you don't even know if a real human even saw it. Then finally a recruiter calls me about a local position. Conversation goes well, she sounds interested, tells me about the role, and sets up an interview.

So I take time off work, get ready, drive all the way over there, and check in. I sit there for about 30 minutes before asking the receptionist if there's any update. She looks confused and starts checking things. Then asks me who I was supposed to be meeting with. That's when I got that sinking feeling something was off.

I call the recruiter. No answer. Text. Nothing. Email. Nothing.

At that point I was just standing there wondering why tf I even came. Ended up leaving and driving all the way home.

Three days later she finally responds. Not with an explanation or anything useful. Just basically "sorry, things have been busy."

Like... okay?

've been busy too. Busy enough to take time off, drive across Houston traffic, and sit in a lobby waiting for an interview.

What annoys me isn't even missing out on the job. It's the complete lack of respect for other people's time. If I had pulled something like this, I'd instantly be labeled unreliable or unprofessional. But when it's the recruiter doing it, apparently it's just one of those things.

Maybe I'm overreacting because job hunting already sucks, but the whole thing left a really bad taste in my mouth.

Anyone else run into stuff like this lately or did I just get incredibly unlucky?
