SAS rebooked me onto an itinerary that appears to require a UK transit visa. What are my options?
I'm honestly at my wit's end and hoping someone here has dealt with something similar. I am an Indian citizen with a valid F-1 US visa. I originally booked a Chicago-Mumbai round trip with SAS. My original itinerary had short connections in London and did not require an overnight stay or a UK transit visa. Without notifying me by email or text, SAS cancelled my original itinerary and rebooked me.
The new return itinerary is BA198: Mumbai- London Heathrow (arrives 6:15 PM), Overnight connection, SAS flight the next morning at 6:40 AM from Heathrow to Copenhagen, then Chicago. The UK visa checker appears to indicate that because this is an overnight connection requiring me to clear UK border control, I need a UK Visitor in Transit visa. My original itinerary didn't have this issue.
To make matters worse:
* SAS has no India customer service number that I can find. * There is no live chat option available for me.
At this point, it seems unreasonable that I should have to obtain an additional visa because SAS involuntarily changed my itinerary. Also, it impossible because my flight is next week and transit visa process requires 3 weeks atleast. Has anyone successfully gotten SAS to reroute them when they involuntarily booked you? #travel source
