My first ever hike and my first summit, El Teide Volcano, Tenerife 3718m
I come from a town that sits at 80 meters above sea level, so im not used to altitudes, and i never hiked a mountain before, maybe this was a stupid idea but now im glad that i done it, started at 4am, hiked the Montana Blanca Trail for 5km, then we were asked for permits, and then the steep parts started, it was nowhere near easy but thankfully we had a guide, had a few checkpoints the refuge and the cable car building, when we reached the cable car due to high winds there was only one left to go down and it would be closed, meaning i have to hike 10km back down, already being exhausted i had a tough choice to go down with cable car and finally rest or push to the summit and walk back down, i refused to give up since i already came this far to give up now when i can see the summit. So there we are at the top of Spain-the highest mountain in Spain, the winds at the top were so strong, but views were incredible and so worth it…. #activity #hiking source
