I installed an Oatey caulkless shower drain. When I cut the waste pipe going into the drain, I cut it about 1 inch below the flange. Oatey says it should be 3/4" below the flange. Im wondering if I can use a schedule 40 pipe extender that fits inside the pipe I installed to raise it up and cut it off at the right height? The other option is to cut a hole in the basement ceiling and cut the pipe and extend it using a straight connector. Any thoughts? #home
