View from the Lake Ann trail. Mt Baker Wilderness. Mt Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Washington State. USA.
The Mount Baker area offers tremendous hiking/backpacking/climbing opportunities. This pic is from the Lake Ann trail. A 9ish to 12 mile ish Round Trip in and out with several opportunities for exploring. The trailhead is located on State Route 542 1 mile before the road ends at Artist Point on Mt Baker. The trail starts off descending 800' then climbing 900' to picturesque Lake Ann in a hanging valley facing Mt Shuksan. The trail continues on being the Mt Shuksan climbers access trail. Another 400' vertical can be easily hiked up to very close views of glaciated Mt Shuksan. Extremely worthwhile trail. As expected quite crowded and parking fills very early. The lake is usually overrun with backpackers, their tents packed in on one another. Not a solitude camping experience. Very scenic outing.
