Is it cringe to let a friend know that I like to spend time with them alone, just the two of us?
i'm (23f) overthinking a message i sent to a friend. So basically I had a plan with a friend (22f) to go meet her this Saturday night to give her her birthday gift and maybe just hang out and talk for a bit. We've been hanging out a couple of times just the two of us, which isn't something I do with that many of the other people in our group. But I think it's kind of nice actually!
I got a text from two of our other friends (27f) and (26f) if I had plans this Saturday, so i told them that I was meeting up with friend (22f). They immediately asked if they could join us. I told them that I had to ask friend (22f) if it was okay.
So I Sendt this text: " Hey!!!:) Got a question from friend (26f) and friend (27f) if they could join us on Saturday? It's totally fine if it doesn't work out!!! Then I'll just let them know!! I like hanging out just the two of us too just so you know!!!<3"
Was that weird? I really care about not changing up plans without asking the person i had planes with first for permission. I also just wanted to let her know that I think it's nice that we've been hanging out one on one, and that me inviting the other two friends is not an indication on my part that I think we need to be more people as a social buffer. Idk i'm definitely overthinking it. I just want to be nice but maybe that last sentence was too much ugh. #relationships source
