People don't actually want "The Truth" they want a prettier version of their own delusions.
Everyone claims they want a partner who is "honest" and a world that "tells it like it is," but the second you provide a clinical, data-driven audit of their behavior, they collapse. Most people use "Truth" as a buzzword for "Validation." If the truth doesn't come with a soft landing, a "heartbreak" excuse, or a way to blame the universe, they label it as "bitterness" or "trauma." I’ve seen it happen in real-time: You point out that a relationship surviving on a 100% emotional subsidy isn't a partnership, and instead of debating the math, people rush to diagnose your "wounds." They would rather believe the messenger is broken than admit their own life is a series of bad investments. We’ve reached a point where logic is treated like an assault. If you don't wrap reality in three layers of "empathy" and "softness," you’re a villain. But softness doesn't fix a lopsided dynamic; it just makes the decline more comfortable. Stop saying you want the truth if you're only willing to hear the parts that don't require you to change your life. Most of you aren't looking for a "harsh reality" you're looking for a more convincing lie to tell yourselves. #conversation
