Here are some mindsets/tips I personally use to become less anxious and more social. Please share you guys' best ones!
Im just sharing in hopes that i can help others and also wanna see how much of you guys can relate to these lol
1 - I imagine myself to be like in that awkward backstory phase of a character that'll eventually be this awesome confident guy. This is great because youre telling youself that youre just in development and not the finished product, which gives some kind of confidence and you wont constantly beat yourself up.
2 - Just look at other people as if theyre dead, and bones in the ground. We all die, none of it matters, the "embarrassment", the judgements, who cares? We're all dead, we're just not there yet. So live your life to the fullest. This one really helped my anxiety.
3 - New people dont know you, so use that to your advantage, you are under no obligation to be who you were 5 seconds ago. Experiment.
4 - People in general DO want to talk. You'd be amazed how just boring small talk can light someone up sometimes. The people yearn for community. So if you notice something about someone, for example if they remind you of some celebrity, or if you have matching clothes, or anything, just talk to them!
5 - When you make social fumbles/mistakes, humanize how you think the other would react (they're probably thinking "oh so im not the only one")
6 - Destroy all the pedestals. Doesnt matter if the person is a celeb, famous, or anything. In the end, we're all humans. Do not put pedestals for people you think are out of your social league. We're all limited creatures living our first life and none of us know the answers.
7 - You need to occasionally have an attitude of being a buyer, not a seller. Which means that its not you who needs to prove your worth to others, but its them who needs to prove themselves to you. Because life is short, they cant waste your time.
But most importantly, dont take tips absolutely, know when to apply and when not to.
