Hi all. I have a shower where I re-applied some clear silicon caulk to the space where the wall meets the floor. Some of the caulk was missing and the space below it was having a leak. The caulk sealed things nicely. But here we are, 1.5 years later, and we're noticing a black buildup under the clear caulk. We can't clean it properly, so I'll need to remove the caulk and re-think an approach.
What would you recommend? I believe the best way to remove the caulk is just a razorblade, but I'll take tips from anybody on a better way, or a solvent I should use. Then our plan is to bleach it, let it dry thoroughly and then reapply the clear silicon caulk again.
Would anybody do things differently? Thanks for your advice. #home
