What did you do when your toddler pushed/hit others?
Today we got a note from our toddler’s Montessori school that “she does not know how strong she is and she is pushing other kids around”. She is 20 months old.
I know toddlers push and pull and that repetition is the only way to get through to them.
I also want to say that she is a 97 percentile (height and weight) toddler, I know she can be very strong.
She hits, pulls and bites me (not my husband) quite a bit. I repeatedly say no hitting, bad job and put her in time out. I also say gentle hands and show it on a doll or on her dad. Her dad usually demonstrates empathy and says sorry to me and that we shouldn’t hit.
Obviously none of this is working. I am not looking for mean comments, I am trying hard, **I am just trying to understand what worked for you?** Thank you!
