Career Direction and Paths
Hello everyone! I'm looking for some opinions about career development and continuing building my resume. I've been having a few paths in front of me for a minute and I find myself at a crossroads and dividing my attention.
Currently I am an Assistant Superintendent 2 for a large General Contractor set to be a Superintendent 1 in a year. I am an Electrician by trade and I have experience from running a truck, building large apartment projects, and working in a local engineering firm as a PM.
First, I've had my College experience put on hold for some time now due to other things in life taking priority. I've been wanting to get my Electrical Engineering Degree since I started my Apprenticeship, however I am now considering a Construction Project Management Degree. I'm not sure if getting a degree is as important at this point.
Second, I've had a few certifications in the works. I'm currently studying for my Master's License with an aim at getting my Electrical Contractors License down the road. I've also floated getting my PMP among other management certifications and processes. Unrelated I'm working on my Part 107 for commercial drone flights.
I guess the question is should I just stack certifications, focus on a degree, or a mix of both.
Thanks for any opinions and thoughts!
