Do I have time? Is this realistic?

Okay so we live in Los Angeles and we are leaving on a Monday to travel to Lincoln Nebraska hopefully get there by Friday that week. Is this realistic to enjoy a nice road trip? This is a first time, and maybe there are some things to see along the way. Anyone have experience with this?
