Starting as a Field Engineer on a large commercial project - what should I expect?
I’m graduating soon with a CM degree and about to start as a Field Engineer with a big GC on a large project.
I’ve heard a lot of different stuff about the job so I’m just trying to get a real idea of what day to day is like.
Mainly wondering:
•What time you’re usually getting there / leaving
•Are 10–12 hour days pretty normal
•What you actually do as a new FE (like what your day looks like)
•Do they actually train you or are you kinda thrown into it
•What makes someone good at the job vs struggling
Not worried about working hard, just don’t really know what to expect yet.
