Clearly nobody created the universe...

So, I stumbled upon this delightful meme today, courtesy of one of my *enlightened* friends.

Picture this: a middle aged, bald, boomer ass dude with spectacles, is gawking at a painting. Caption: "What a beautiful piece of art, clearly nobody made it."

You see the allegory there? Pretty obvious mock. Yeah, it's comparing the universe to that painting. The implication? Atheists are dumb because we look at this vast, intricate universe and think it popped out of nowhere.

But what's funnier than stating nobody created the universe, or uncertainty of the artist is claiming to know *exactly* who painted the grand portrait of the cosmos.

I'm all for a good chuckle, but there's a stark difference between saying, "I don't know," and proclaiming, "I've got the owner's manual to the universe, and here's what page 42 says."

But let's say God does exist. We're talking about a universe here with trillions of galaxies, billions of stars in each of these galaxies, and an unimaginable number of planets in total.

So you're telling me this deity's master plan, with all this cosmic real estate, boils down to playing puppet master with a bunch of hairless apes on a pale blue dot, deciding who gets eternal spa days and who gets the eternal sauna treatment? Seems a tad... limited.

And moreover, what kind of flawed judiciary does your god even have? Your god will torture me in hell forever just because I questioned? Really? If one year is one second, my average life span is supposed to be around 1 minute 10 seconds, and the universe is 437 years old, and forever is, well, FOREVER. Doesn't that seem a bit unfair?

But let's be real: it's easier to create a meme than to ponder the imponderables. Because nothing says "I've thought deeply about the nature of existence" quite like a jpeg with a snarky caption.
