How much does following the carabiner code actually matter?
I’m a lesbian, but I’m also asexual. I just want to make it more clear to other lesbians that I’m gay as well. I already dress pretty masc, so my thought process is that if I start wearing a carabiner on top of it, I’ll push myself over into firmly lesbian-looking territory. I know what it technically means to wear it on the left versus the right, but am I fine to just wear it to help signal that I’m a lesbian? Do people even look at carabiners and think ‘ooh, look, she’s wearing it on the left’ outside of specific circumstances? Sorry if this is a stupid question. I’m 19, not as involved in the Queer community as I’d like to be, and I don’t know any lesbians personally to ask #adult source
