SubhanAllah. There is an experience I had while recovering from six gunshot wounds that I still think about to this day. I was 21 at the time, Alhamdulillah, and by the will of Allah I had survived six gunshots, most of them affecting my leg. One day, while I was recovering, I went for a walk on a beautiful trail near me. It was peaceful, the scenery was beautiful, and I decided to spend the walk studying the Torah and, especially, the Talmud. As I was reading, I came across a passage . The passage disturbed me deeply. Almost immediately, I became extremely sick to my stomach. I started sweating, my stomach began turning, and I felt like I was about to vomit. Then, suddenly, I collapsed. I was on the ground and, for some reason, I couldn't get myself back up. I remember thinking, "What is happening to me?" Then something even stranger happened. My vision changed. The entire world suddenly looked unbelievably vivid, as if someone had placed an intense filter over reality and turned every color up to its absolute maximum. Everything looked brighter, sharper, almost unreal. I tried blinking. I rubbed my eyes, thinking maybe I could make it stop. But then, with every blink, I saw something. The first blink: I saw lightning or thunder slam into the ground, followed by what looked like an explosion. The second blink: I saw two hands holding the stone tablets. The third blink: I saw newspapers covered in what looked like a red filter. Then I opened my eyes again. I didn't understand what I was seeing. I didn't know whether there was some connection between the images, and I couldn't explain why I was experiencing any of it. But in that moment, I did the only thing that came naturally to me. I began reciting Ayat al-Kursi. And SubhanAllah, the feeling disappeared. The nausea stopped. The overwhelming sensation went away. I didn't vomit, and I was able to regain myself. I still don't claim to know exactly what happened that day. I don't know whether those images were simply a response from my body and brain, something spiritual, or something I cannot explain. But I know what I experienced. And I know that in the moment I felt completely overwhelmed, I turned to Allah, and the feeling passed. Alhamdulillah for everything. I survived six gunshots by the will of Allah, and whatever that experience was, it is something I will never forget. SubhanAllah. #religion source
