I think anthropic made a deal with DoD
As title suggests, when Anthropic publicly denounced the DoD I think that was a ruse.
They quietly made a deal and their AI is being labeled as a strategic asset to the US. They left the model open for a broader reach of users to help the development process but now that they’ve reached Mythos they are closing the door to sovereign US citizens only.
We are seeing the EU focus on data sovereignty and most recently France announced a sovereign AI strategy.
I have no data to back this up other than vibes.
