Making a vanity tray and jewelry dishes out of this gorgeous old growth redwood burl, this is the tray just sprayed with alcohol. Can anyone teach me how to beautifully finish this? I am thinking rubio monocoat, but I am still pretty new to woodworking and don't know what the best steps are.
I am still learning finishing techniques and I have seen how Rubio monocoat makes redwood absolutely gorgeous, but I have no clue what to use prior to that. I would really appreciate a good "how to" on really making my redwood pieces shine! Do I use clear? A colored one? What is the best way to prep the wood, and do I put anything on it prior to the rubio monocoat? #diy source
