Shoko Asahara: Famous for 'levitating', incapable of flying when it counted
Shoko Asahara was the leader of the Japanese doomsday cult Aum Shinrikyo (responsible for the 1995 Tokyo subway sarin attack). He built his divine image partly around famous photos of him "levitating"—which was actually just him hopping from a lotus position.
In 2018, he was executed by hanging.
