Is upgrading from a Ryzen 5 3600 to a RYZEN 7 5800X3D worth it in July/August 2026?
I'm sure im not the first one who's asking and I did research a bit mysel, but im still unsure about what to think.
I'm currently running on a R 5 3600, RTX 3070 and 16gb RAM 3200
I could work for 1-2 months and afford the 7 5800X3D Anniversary Edition for \~370€ and save myself from upgrading my mainboard and ram (especially since the prices for ram are pretty high right now) OR I'll just keep waiting to upgrade for AM5, but it'll take 5-7 months.
Problem is, firstly I hate waiting and secondly I play a lot of CPU heavy games. I do a lot of heavy modding for Skyrim, Fallout 4, Stellaris, Hearts of Iron 4, EU4, etc. I do play a lot of CPU heavy games.
