Where can I find 1" x 4" FJ Pine at 16' lengths that isn't primed?
Maybe not a common material for woodworking but my professional background is in scenery. Most shops I worked in circa 10 years ago would stock 1x3 or 1x4 FJ at 16' lengths. For the life of me I cannot find a supplier who has this material without it being pre-primed.
The FJ construction results in straighter, more consistent lengths at 16'. If its pre-primed it doesn't take wood glue as well or recieve certain scenic painting techniques. I can get it primed from multiple suppliers but not one of them offers it in "clear".
Anyone have any idea where I might find this on the east coast? Circa NY/PA? The one supplier I knew had it only deals in sheet goods now.
