Manchester United have completed the signing of Cameroon midfielder Carlos Baleba from Brighton in a deal worth up to £70 million. ⚽
The agreement is £65 million plus up to £5 million in add-ons and includes a sell-on clause. Baleba has signed a five-year contract with an option for a further 12 months.
He is United’s third midfield arrival of the summer, after Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans. The moves take the club’s reported spending on midfielders to about £148 million. 💷
The recruitment follows Casemiro’s departure and a serious knee injury to Manuel Ugarte. Baleba said joining United was an “incredible feeling” and that playing at Old Trafford as a United player would be an honour.
