New Driver in Dubai – Got AED 800 Fine + 4 Black Points for Using a Handheld Phone. What Should I Do Now?
Hi everyone,
I'm a new driver in Dubai and recently received an AED 800 fine and 4 black points after an AI camera on Al Khail Road detected me using a handheld mobile phone while driving.
I understand the violation and I'm not trying to avoid responsibility. Since this is my first traffic offense, I'm just unsure about what I should do next and would really appreciate some guidance from people who have been through this.
A few questions I have:
1. Should I just pay the fine, or is there anything else I need to do?
2. Are there any discount campaigns on Dubai traffic fines that happen during the year?
3. Are there any black point removal schemes, awareness courses, or amnesty campaigns that I should know about?
4. My vehicle registration renewal is due next May. Will the black points affect the renewal process in any way?
I'd also appreciate hearing from anyone who has had a similar experience and what they did afterward.
