His dad likes to ignore his lies because calling him out on it makes him have a melt down. He will start yelling, will be very adamant he isn’t lying and will start verbally attacking whoever is pointing out his lie. Last night I asked him to get his clothes out of the dryer. I had checked to make sure they were dry before I asked because I know he has a habit of lying and saying they aren’t dry, then restarting the dryer so he doesn’t have to get them. Well as I figured he comes back in from the laundry room, with no clothes. I asked him why he didn’t have his load of clothes and he said they aren’t dry yet. I told him I checked them and I know they are dry and please go get them. He started arguing saying I was wrong. I simply said that was possible and would he please bring me one of the articles of clothing that was still wet and if it was wet I would apologize and say I was wrong. Well that sent him into a rage. He started screaming I was the liar and I didn’t even need the dryer so he didn’t know why I was so worried about him getting his clothes. I went to his dad and said I want to sit him down and let him know that lying isn’t okay and dad said well maybe he thought they were still wet. He absolutely knows he lies a lot and this is something he regularly lies about. I said well I have asked him to bring me something to show it is still wet and he won’t do that and the obvious reason is because the clothes are dry. Dad wants me to just drop it and let him dry the clothes again and then we have to remember in 45mins to ask him again to get the clothes or they will just sit there. I totally disagree with this. I want to call him out for being a liar. I am so tired of his compulsive lying and I am pretty sure we are enabling it by pretending we don’t know. #relationships
