how to understand rendering?
just for context, i’m not exactly a beginner artist, but when it comes to digital art i have a lot of struggles, especially with painting.
since my style is more inclined to an anime art style, i always had a pretty basic style of coloring my drawings (just the plain anime shadows that felt too flat)
but when i wanted to change to a more semi realistic style, i came across the concept of rendering, and i’ve been trying to learn how to render my pieces but i just don’t know how??
all the tutorials i’ve seen, people just be doing the “1, 2, skip a few” ahh tutorials that makes the process a lot more confusing 😭💔
they start by coloring with plain colors beneath the sketch, then some simple shadows using the airbrush, and also some oclusion shadows
on the hair and clothing, but after this part, everything just gets so confusing
i just don’t understand how this process of painting over the lineart and the colors that were beneath works(and also blending the colors), i feel like i either need a tutorial that explains and shows every little detail about the process, or i’ll have to just be watching a shit ton of speed paints in 0.05x speed to learn by myself how rendering works
