Hey y'all. I grew up roadtripping with my family and would like to do that with my young family but I have a hard time with planning the logistics. Specifically, car seats, naps, etc?
When I was little, we had a suburban and my dad would lay down the third row to make a giant pallet with blankets and pillows. My sister and I would sleep, play, hang out there for the trip. No seatbelts, no car seats, etc. I don't remember how young we were but I definitely remember being an elementary aged kid for some. This seems pretty unconventional and a tad reckless now but it's was a different time.
My husband grew up renting rvs and that's how he'd prefer to travel. Then we could stop and camp and have space to more safely roam about.
Anyway let's say I was to do an 18 hour trip with my 2 year old, 4 year old, husband and me across several states. Has anyone accomplished this before? What did this look like for y'all? Do we stay loose with sleep schedules? Wait until the kids are older? How do you manage the time during the trip? #activities #travel source
