How to stain this properly?
I want to have these stair mouldings (?) stained and finished. They were originally non-stained (fir) and finished and turned this nice brown over the course of 30 years. Then we stupidly chose to paint them white.
I just stripped all the paint off (citri strip). In addition to the citri strip, it took a whack of scraping and sanding.
I REALLY don’t want to spend the next 27 years sanding them all down. What’s the proper way, technique, to stain these so that they aren’t all blotchy and weird when I do the poly?
