Mom and me, Vietnam,1964-65’ish
Saigon before the war escalated and GI’s were allowed to bring their families. According to mom, I learned to speak Vietnamese in the 10months we were there. Eventually we were woke in the middle of the night, rushed to a vehicle, to a helo and then put on a plane and evacuated. Apparently that’s when it really ‘hit the fan’.
