Road Trip dedicated to depression and grief - Please give me soulful, restful spots
My mom passed a year ago, and one of the last places she wanted to go to was the redwoods. She LOVED massive trees, shade, comfort in solitude in nature. My dad just passed almost now a month ago, and his lost is much more complex and not as loving.
I am planning a trip along the 101, a section my mom and I never been on. I am just looking for beautiful spots in the trees or ocean. My mom and I loved just watched sea life on the coast and sunsets. Any spots to see whales off the coast or rockhound legally would be great.
My mom was also a lover of seafood, so any shacks with amazing food or even grocery stores.
I just want to listen to Lord Huron, Johnny Cash, windows down and smell the sea. I am planning on flying into Eureka, "start" in Crescent City then end in San Francisco. I also have my food selected in SF. But this route is new, and I am already saving spots.
