Remove wallpaper vs rip out drywall when im already ripping out drywall everywhere else
I bought a gut house late last fall that im gutting and renovating mostly myself. The house is a 1958 1000 sqft ranch. I'm already planning on tearing out the drywall everywhere else so I can have the electical and insulation redone but this small bedroom, the drywall on the interior walls is in good shape, I would just need to remove the wallpaper. The one wall that is an exterior wall of course we'd remove the drywall from, but the three interior walls I'd be able to access the electrical from the opposite side of the wall as the other rooms definitely need the interior drywall removed. Also, anything is made easier because I have a full, unfinished basement. Do I really want to put the effort of removing the wallpaper in and my drywallers would just have to spray some more texture on those walls so it matches, or do I want to remove the drywall so its new and fresh? Oh and we are not removing drywall off the ceilings, those are in good enough shape and thatd make it a much bigger mess/project.
