Chile day hike: San José Volcano or Laguna Negra?
Hi everyone, I'm visiting Chile for the first time next week and looking to do a challenging hike. I've found tour companies that offer trekking trips from Santiago, and it seems like only San José Volcano and Laguna Negra are available currently due to road conditions after snowfall. Both trips are about similar on paper (10 hours total, 8km hike).
Do you have a recommendation since I only have time for one hiking trip? This will be my first time hiking anywhere close to the Andes (I'm from the US). I'm in my 30s and very healthy/active. Thank you!
