If people need your seat on public transport, they should ask for it
Sometimes I feel like communication is getting worse and worse these days. If you want something, you should be expected to politely ask for it instead of expecting others to guess whether you want or need a seat or not.
People on public transport sometimes have other things to do than to gauge the age and situation of everyone around them to decide who to offer their seat to.
You want a seat? No problem, just open your mouth and ask politely. That's what language is for.
