Guard your focus because it is one of the few things in life that is truly yours. Every day you are choosing where your energy goes, whether you realize it or not. When you constantly focus on negativity, drama, fear, and distractions, you train your mind to search for more of the same. Over time, that becomes the reality you experience.
The good news is that the opposite is also true. When you focus on responsibility, concern, integration, love, joy, gratitude, and non judgment, you begin training your mind to recognize opportunities, solutions, and possibilities. Your brain is always adapting to what you repeatedly focus on. The more attention you give something, the more important it becomes in your awareness.
Most people try to change their life without changing their focus. They want more peace, happiness, success, or fulfillment while spending most of their time thinking about what is wrong. That approach rarely works. Your focus influences your thoughts, your thoughts influence your emotions, your emotions influence your actions, and your actions create your results.
If you want a different life, start by becoming intentional about what receives your attention. Protect your focus. Be selective with what you watch, listen to, read, and think about. Focus on becoming your true self, the most compassionate, grateful, empathetic, and forgiving version of yourself.
Your life follows your focus. Choose wisely.
