Friend said my quietness is unnerving
My friend and I had a talk tonight after we got done hanging out all day. She mentioned that sometimes she finds it unnerving that I just go quiet randomly. I do have that habit. I’ve always been a very quiet and observant person. Usually when my two friends and I go out, we reach a point where I can be quiet while they entertain each other.
From a young age, I would go all day without speaking. I’m not sure what it is but whenever I’m tired or when I’m stressed or just when I have nothing to say, I never force myself to keep talking. I just don’t talk and I don’t say anything for a long time. I guess it can be weird to people but I never thought of it as that. That’s just who I am. Now I’m a bit embarrassed by this. I’m not offended by her choice of words, because how would she know? But I do feel slightly embarrassed.. like maybe I should have made more of an effort to not be weird and off putting.
