Street noise is driving me absolutely insane. Are there any decent DIY fence ideas?
I'm stuck in this damn hours for a few more years. The street traffic normally isn't too bad, but there's a large amount of assholes with clapped out trucks and stupidly loud motorcycles. At least a few per hour. My house is old and the insulation is poor. Upgrading all that would be nice but would cost ~$10k and I won't be here nearly long enough to ever see the return on that.
Is there some sort of reasonable cost DIY fence design that I can build on the corner of my yard that can either deflect or absorb low to medium frequency noise? I don't care if it's ugly as long as it's not extremely obtuse. I'm afraid that foam paneling will just be destroyed by the sun, and I live up north so any greenery is just gone from October until late May, so I can't use bushes or vines or anything. I'm at a loss here.
