Beginner solo hiker, took my daughter for the first time today.
And it was awesome. We did a flat trail that’s 1mile. My kid is normally so cautious and afraid of the world so I was so pleasantly surprised today when she LOVED IT. She didn’t want to leave and asked if we could stay the night. She did awesome.
We had a crazy unexpected moment while stopping at the small river picking rocks. She picked one up and all these baby leeches got on her hand, I stayed calm and she did too. I removed them and cleaned her hands and she wanted to keep going. I’m so proud of her and this was an amazing experience, we will be going every week from now on.
