I wrote a similar post last year. My brother and I drove from Ontario, Canada to Las Vegas. This year we went south through Texas and across the iconic Route 66. What an awesome experience.
Tough first stretch was non stop 26hrs to get to Amarillo. Stopped at the Cadillac Ranch, midpoint of Rte 66, Tucumcari, Santa Rosa to swim in the blue hole, Albuquerque to see Breaking Bad house, stood on a corner in Winslow, Arizona, Grand Canyon (at night, still super cool), and into Vegas. We did a couple field trips on the non card playing days and saw Red Rock Canyon, Boulder City, Hoover Dam and Nelson. Just a fantastic time. I really love experiencing your country like this. Every single person I met was gracious, nice and welcoming. I’m so grateful.
4000km - 3.25 days
I flew home today and he’s driving home next week.
Bonus: I qualified for the WSOP Main Event through a $600 satellite and checked that off my bucket list. No money but a great experience. #travel #activities source
