🏏 Virat Kohli has said the 2027 50-over World Cup will be his last tournament in the format. The event is scheduled for South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia next October.
The India batter has 54 ODI centuries, the most by any player, and 14,941 ODI runs, second only to Sachin Tendulkar. The 2027 competition would be his fifth World Cup appearance.
Kohli won the 2011 World Cup with India and was part of the side beaten by Australia in the 2023 final. He has already retired from Test cricket and Twenty20 internationals.
He said the intensity of a 50-over World Cup, across about 10 matches and in foreign conditions, makes the tournament especially demanding. 🌍
