Jazz artists tied to a specific city or neighborhood - beyond the obvious ones
Working on a road trip app called RoadyGoat that surfaces artists from the towns you drive through.
Jazz might be the best genre for this - New Orleans, Chicago, NYC, Kansas City all have such distinct sounds tied to place.
But I want to go deeper. Who's a jazz artist strongly associated with a specific place that doesn't get enough credit for that connection? Smaller cities, specific neighborhoods, regional scenes welcome.
