Sports fans who claim to be against wrong doing in sports but still support the leagues are hypocrites
This happens in every sport but I will specially tell about the NBA which is my favourite. Many NBA fans especially online claim to be so against many things. A big recent example is gambling, anytime a player like Giannis/lebron/kd are signed t partner with a gambling company they get load of flack. But these DMs and fans are on the edge of their seats for LeBron and Giannis switching teams.
They are upset about the athletes but tune in throughout the year to watch the league/sports media who are all partnered with the same companies. These same companies are using the athletes through the leagues to promote their product anyways.
It doesn’t stop here they’ve done the same for abuse. Miles bridges, Kevinf porter jr and Jason Kidd all beat their spouse up and came right back into the league. All the fans who claimed to be upset online still supported their teams and the league regardless. The NBA is actually so bold they brought known pdf Karl Malone to an all star game a few year ago and no one pushed back.
My point is many of these fans claim to care about the issues in society but they don’t. They expect others to turn act while they turn a blind eye and be outraged when they don’t care to do anything themselves. Same people comparing about LeBron’s gambling partnerships will be watching opening night with their popcorn to see LeBron in his new team.
