Traveling to the US with an empty suitcase and buying your clothes there
As a European (NL) I've often been told the US is a lot cheaper in terms of clothing and hiking gear than my country. I'm traveling to Boise, Idaho soon and since I need new clothes anyway, would it be a stupid idea to just bring 1-2 sets of clothing and for the rest bring an empty suitcase?
Will it be significantly cheaper? Does this also go for hiking gear? And are there any stores or franchises I should go to? Does anyone perhaps have an idea of what 'normal' prices for certain pieces of clothing are?

Yes, it will be significantly cheaper. May be this also go for hiking gear. Oviously, you should go to any stores or frachises. There are many guides who gives some pieces of ideas about 'normal' prices for certain pieces of clothing.
