Contractor trying to charge me after I left a negative review
I’ll keep is short: Basement flooded 12/17. Contractor came 12/18 to pump the water out. Emailed quote for $3550, text agreement on $3000, and finally verbal agreement over the phone for $2800 x estimated 3 day job (idk why, the flooding wasn’t that bad). I had to get my plumber to fix my sump pumps and on Day 3 contractor took his pumps away.
This guy first asked for a 5 star review on Thumbtack for a “discount.” After the job he asked for a google review. I was honest in my google review, i didn’t really like how he did business and communicated w me but i was grateful for his quick help that first night.
Now, 10 days later, he shows up unannounced to my house, saying he needs to bill me more for “extra 3 days” that i had his pump while my plumber came to check out the situation. I said no, we had agreed on 3 day job and i paid you $2800 that we agreed on.
He’s looking for $1850 in “emergency services” for those 3 days. sounds insane to me just bc he’s butthurt over a review. I had blocked his number but now he’s still texting me about how i owe him etc etc.
i genuinely feel unsafe and there’s a police car by my house right now.
