No response after phone screen, job got reposted, should I follow up?
Job I'm applying for is the big boy version of the internship I had a couple years back that I really enjoyed. Applied and had a phone screen a couple of weeks ago, followed up with the corporate recruiter and was told that the hiring manager has not yet expressed interest but she'll let me know if that changes.
At first I thought maybe they had a lot of over qualified candidates since the job market is bad and I just got outcompeted but the listing was just reposted. Was a bit disappointed to get ghosted since I know the specific internship I did wasn't even offered in following years. Meet 90% of stated qualifications for listing. Had a decent relationship with the guy I interned under (not the hiring manager) and I'm tempted to reach out to either him leverage that connection, or the hiring manager directly which I know is often frowned upon, but this is my """dream job""" and work in this exact niche is very infrequent in my area. I'm also a bit concerned about the possibility that I hit the HR filter for some reason or another. On the other hand I've also been sort of indirectly told "no" (though the hiring manager did look at my LinkedIn the other day), but I really just want the chance to sit down and interview even if I don't get the offer.
