Likelihood of pulling a wire run using old telephone jack wires?
I need to run network cable (cat6e I guess) from the basement all the way to the 2nd floor. that room has an old telephone jack in the wall, an exterior wall. What are the chances I can remove the plate, tape the cat6 to the phone wires, and go down to the basement and pull it all the way through? My fear is, I kinda sorta remember that telephone wires are daisy-chained between jacks, so that would mean it is not a straight down run, but rather it branches out sideways across the whole house. Is that correct? So bad idea? Other suggestions? #home source
