The last week of August was also very hot; it hasn't rained in two months, and the heat will stay until the end of September.
In such heat, every step is strenuous, but you have to walk the dogs every day; they need exercise.
We go swimming during the day and take a longer walk in the evening before sunset, when it is not so hot anymore.
The app I use only counts the number of steps, not other sports activities.
