My Uncle, Victor Coladonato, who owned and trained what many believed would be a Triple-Crown contender horse in the late 1970s, leaning on his rusty ‘60 Eldorado some time in the mid 80s.
Uncle Vic was one of 11 children of chicken farmers from Delmar, DE by way of Italy. In ‘78 he had a horse named Iron Legend that was a bit of a Cinderella story and was a winning horse locally on the East Coast of the US. He was close to getting a real race team put together to run in the Derby, and the horse pulled a muscle working out. His luck ran out there, and he retired.
While he was running horses, he lived in a ‘54 Cadillac hearse that he pulled the horse trailer with. He was a cool old guy.
