My Entry for #WorldHumanitarianDay 🌍💛
Today, on World Humanitarian Day, I want to honor Benazir Bhutto 🕊️ (Born: 21 June 1953, Died: 27 December 2007), the first female Prime Minister of Pakistan 🇵🇰 and a global symbol of courage, democracy and hope. She studied at Harvard University in the USA and later at Oxford University in the UK 🎓 — where she became the first Asian woman to be elected president of the Oxford Union.
Despite facing political struggles, imprisonment and threats, she always returned to stand with her people. She believed strongly in social justice, women's rights, and opportunity for the poor. One of her most impactful contributions was the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) — a government welfare initiative to provide financial assistance to poor families, especially women. To this day, BISP continues to reduce poverty and empower millions of women across Pakistan 💰👩👧👧❤️.
Benazir Bhutto’s dedication to education, healthcare and equality changed countless lives. She inspired girls everywhere by proving that leadership has no gender. Her courage and sacrifice still echo in the hearts of the people.
